THE ELECTRONIC

JOURNALS

/ MINDROOTS

The electronic journals of Johnny Ranger were initially started as the source for the multimedia show: The Dynamic Constellations, which explores technological aspects of live video work, non-linear creation and themes that expresses the permeability of individuality in relation to collectivity and nature. Developed through a nomadic process of filming and editing, the work emerges from several years of travel across diverse cultural territories—spanning East and West, North and South (including Quebec, Brazil, California, India, and Bali). Rather than documenting specific cultures, the project seeks resonances within the human condition itself, understood as a shared, living presence among multiple forms of existence—human, animal, vegetal, energetic, virtual, mental, or physical. Guided by intuition as much as reflection, the artist does not impose a vision upon reality but follows lines of attraction, allowing encounters to shape the narrative organically.

Neither documentary nor fiction, the work embraces chance, coincidence, and attentiveness to the present moment—collecting fragments of lived intensity in a search for freshness, openness, and lightness, while questioning individuality, collectivity, and the porous boundaries between them.

The Dynamic Constellations is a rhythmic meditation on our spontaneous choices, and sometimes incomprehensible attractions to the other and the unknown.
